Correspondence, incorporation and stock records, contracts, deeds, maps, blueprints, ledgers, legal records, and two photographs mostly relating to the business interests of Shattuck including banking, mining, and cattle farming. There are records of the Denn-Arizona Copper Company, Shattuck Arizona Copper Company, Cochise Copper Mining Company, Cochise Development Company, Miners and Merchants Bank, and others. Two photographs depict Shattuck's Bar and an image by photographer C.S. Fly of a woman holding a shotgun. Correspondence is mostly business-related but there are mentions of contemporary events. Labor concerns and the Bisbee Deportation are mentioned in letters to John Nobile, Oral King, and in the Labor Relations file (f.267). Local issues during World War I include men of enemy countries on payrolls in border towns (Gov. Thomas Campbell, f.94) and bonds for roads and bridges in Santa Cruz and Cochise Counties (Capital Issues Committee, f.97-98). Depression-era topics include the Copper Tariff (f.129) and bank closures (Gov. Benjamin Moeur, f. 343). There is also correspondence with the Arizona State Hospital concerning the mental health and treatment of Shattuck's sister, Phoebe Newman.
